Experience can be the best of all teamwork teachers. Working with others to construct a building, a machine or an original solution offers value far beyond just the product of the work. We learn the skills of communication, collaboration, leadership. Perhaps the highest value of experience, if we take pains to learn its lessons, is the revelation that we have talents and potential that we would not have found out about any other way. The best teambuilding and leadership training is to really lead a team in action. Whether we lead teams or not, most of us don't get to build real stuff -- our teamwork rarely has such clear definition. Or didn't have, until now. TEAM LEGO is a day of building, creating, problem solving -- in LEGO-based experiences. Those little blocks that lock together to make things have proven to be among the most effective adult learning vehicles. In this course, participants spend the day in a series of LEGO challenges that demand and practice the competencies you need if you are to successfully build teams. Before and between exercises, they discuss the issues and challenges that arise and how they are met in the action phases. Course Objectives: Identify and explore the typical practices of Teams. Practice the key skills of Team Leaders: Problem Solving Planning Skills Assessment Communication Group Goal Setting Situation Analysis
