Don't like conflict. Can't avoid it. OK, use it to build confidence and advance career. Here's how. http://jimmillikenproject.blogspot.com/2013/05/how-to-handle-conflict.html
PARTICIPANT COMMENT: My title at work is now Systems Project Leader -- so getting the Certificate really paid off for me. And the Intro and Advanced classes you taught were my favorite out of all the ones I took to get it. They gave me a great foundation to start from. Best part is -- I really like what I'm doing now -- makes it easier to come to work! PARTICIPANT COMMENT: The course was fantastic. I'm already implementing some of the processes we learned, and hope to do a lot more. I get compliments on my (your) new PM style. It is allowing me to build my personal business as well. Coming from a professional PM role and venturing into an entrepreneurial environment is a strange (but beautiful) thing. PARTICIPANT COMMENT: I really got a lot out of your class. Your 'Six Step' program not only gives me format/direction but also provides an added layer of confidence for both myself and the project participants. The timing also couldn't have been better -- I finished the class and was assigned two new projects. I've had an initial meeting with one of the requesters and laid out the plan just like in class. Folks were impressed and I'm sure it will improve my chances of bringing success to the team. PARTICIPANT COMMENT: I certainly hope that you get as much enjoyment out of the classes you give and we the students do! It was so pleasurable that we forget the learning aspect, but there was much to be gained in the variety of exercises we accomplished in the short two day. PROJECTS are the defined processes of moving organizations, ideas and groups of people from Point A to Point B when there are significant areas of uncertainty and complexity. They invest resources in efforts specifically designed to create, build and/or install innovations. There always is risk in projects, and the risk often increases in proportion to the value of the intended outcome.
